Interns must carry their own general liability insurance and be a graduate of either the Large Animal Performance Level or a Foundation Level graduate ready to enroll in the Performance Level training. Course Information

Two-Week Intensive Working Internship with Therapy Corner Store and NWSAM This two-week internship program is an opportunity for recent grads of NWSAM to follow, assist, and learn from TCS in action. During this 10 day period of horse showing, Interns will have their hands on a multitude of different horses throughout the week and will walk away with a greater understanding of what it is like to be an Equine Sports Therapist on the A-rated circuit. They will also leave with further knowledge and training in massage, kinesiology taping, laser therapy, Bemer therapy, aromatherapy, business practices in the industry, and so much more.
Total Cost: $1650 USD
Registration: $300 (Due at Enrollment)
First Tuition Payment: $675 (Due 30 days prior to start of Internship)
Final Tuition Payment: $675 (Balance due at start of class)

Deposit is non-refundable following acceptance into program. Tuition refunds are prorated on a case by case basis.

Students can expect to leave after 2 weeks with:
Additional Massage training
Kinesiology tape training
Advanced Stretching
Laser training
Bemer PEMF training
Aromatics training
Business practices on the A-rated circuit
Hands-on experience with some of the west coast top equine athletes.

As the week progresses, interns will have the opportunity to practice skills acquired.

TCS will provide all therapeutic materials, tape, laser, Bemer, etc. Interns are responsible for their own lodging, transportation and meals.

-Students can expect to be closely involved with 3-5 horses/day with supervision and input, including providing massage and assisting with other modalities..

  By submitting an application for any NWSAM course, the applicant is acknowledging and agreeing to the conditions herein: 

Term: This application becomes a binding agreement when Applicant signs and submits this application with the applicable fees and the School accepts the application. The term of the agreement is from the date of signing this application or receipt of materials (Start Date) to the completion of the described internship (End Date).

Policy Relating to Conduct: Intern assumes the responsibility for reasonable standards of behavior while on School property or while participating in program activities. Intern agrees not to engage in inappropriate or illegal conduct, which may be the basis for Intern suspension or dismissal, including but not limited to: attendance under the influence of alcohol or drugs; disruption of class or classes; violation of school regulations or policies; showing lack of respect for another student, animal and/or instructor; stealing or destruction of property; misrepresentation; unprofessional or unethical conduct; excessive absence or tardiness; negligence or incompetence in the practice of animal massage therapy; and any other conduct which School, its instructors or agents reasonably deem to be harmful to the School’s reputation, the academic process, or inappropriate for the profession of animal massage therapy. TCS requires interns to sign additional Code of Conduct Agreement and NDA Agreement specific to individual internship locations.TCS Code of Conduct supersedes this document in case of dispute.

Disciplinary Process:  Warning notices may be issued to interns who are in jeopardy of probation, unsatisfactory progress or termination.  Lack of response to warning notices may result in probation, suspension, termination and/or loss of funds. Warning notices may be issued for violations of academic, attendance or conduct policies.  A first warning may be issued verbally, in writing or by email (for distance-learning students) to indicate the policy violation. A second warning will include the school’s decision to pursue probation, suspension or termination and action required.

LEGAL PRACTICE IN YOUR JURISDICTION:  It is the intern's responsibility to obtain information regarding legal requirements for the practice and study of animal massage in their locale.  

Cancellation and Refund Policy for Internship:

(3) Due to the unique nature of the internship program, the refund policy is not governed by state vocational school code:

(a) A student may request cancellation in any manner. 

(b) Once an applicant is accepted into the program, the $300 deposit is non-refundable.

(i) An applicant may cancel up to five business days after signing the agreement. In the event of a dispute over timely notice, the burden to prove service rests on the applicant.

(ii) If a student cancels prior to the start of their internship program but within 30 days of the start date, student shall forfeit registration and one-half of the tuition fee. Cancellation prior to 30 days before the start date will result in full tuition refund minus material costs if procured for intern. Cancellation during the internship period will result in forfeiture of funds. If an intern fails to report for their internship period without notification, refund will be prorated at TCS discretion based on costs and lost work.
NOTICE TO THE BUYER:

Do not sign this agreement before you read it or if it contains any blank spaces. This is a legal instrument. All pages of this contract are binding. Read both sides of all pages before signing. You are entitled to an exact copy of the agreement, school catalog, and any other papers you may sign, and are required to sign a statement acknowledging receipt of those.

NOTICE OF FINANCIAL OBLIGATION

Washington law requires the following information to be supplied to each student enrolling in a private vocational school licensed under RCW 28C.10.  One copy of this notice bearing original signatures must be attached by the school as an addenda to that individual’s enrollment agreement and a copy must be provided to the enrollee by the school.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT BY ENROLLEE

  1. I understand and accept that any contract for training I enter into with the above named school contains legally binding obligations and responsibilities.
  2. I understand and accept that repayment obligations will be placed upon me by any loans or other financing arrangements I enter into as a means to pay for my training.
  3. I understand that any enrollment contract I enter into will not be binding or take effect for at least five days, excluding Sundays and holidays, following the last date such a contract is signed by the school and myself, provided that I have not entered classes sooner.

Prior to being enrolled in this school, the applicant whose name and signature appears below has been made aware of the legal obligations he/she takes on by entering into a contract for training.  Those discussions included cautions by the school about acquiring an excessive debt burden that might become difficult to repay given employment opportunities and average starting salaries in his/her chosen occupation.
