Equine Performance Show Circuit Internship
To Be The Best, Learn From the Best
This two-week internship program is an opportunity for recent grads of NWSAM to follow, assist, and learn from Therapy Corner Store professional practitioners Casey Sorita and Ross Alexandar, both NWSAM graduates. During this 12 day period, Interns will have their hands on a multitude of different horses throughout the week and will walk away with a greater understanding of what it is like to be an Equine Sports Therapist on the A-rated circuit. They will also leave with further knowledge and training in massage, kinesiology taping, laser therapy, Bemer therapy, aromatherapy, business practices in the industry, and so much more.
Have you dreamed of working on the top level of competitive athletes? These internships will take place during high-level horse shows that run for more than 1 week and you will be exposed to some of the leading barns, trainers and horses on the circuits. The Internship will kick off with a Monday evening get-together to familiarize everyone with the work ahead and have some fun.
Your work weeks start on Tuesday AM of any given horse show and runs through Saturday PM of the following week. Interns will be out with TCS for the duration of the day assisting and learning along the way. Given the nature of a horse show, our working hours will vary from horse show to horse show. Interns should expect to be available for 8 hours per day, though start and end times may vary based on case load. As the week progresses, interns will have the opportunity to practice the skills acquired. Interns can expect to be closely involved with 3-5 horses/day with supervision and input, including providing massage and assisting with other modalities.
Currently, this internship is available only to graduates of the NWSAM Large Animal Performance Massage course.
TCS will provide all therapeutic materials, kinesiology tape, laser, BEMER, and forms needed during internship. Interns are responsible for their own lodging, transportation and meals.
The cost of this course is $1650 with a $300 deposit due at enrollment. Of the remaining balance, $675 is due 30 days prior to start of Internship and the balance is due on the first day of the Internship period.
Choose from over 12 dates and multiple locations in 2022. ShowJumping and Reining shows available. An application will be sent upon enrollment and candidates will be contacted for follow-up interviews prior to selection. Deposits will only be processed after acceptance.
