In the Level 300 Rehabilitation Massage course, students learn to work alongside veterinarians and other animal health care providers using advanced massage techniques to support recovery from injury or illness. Rehabilitation Massage is not a substitute for proper veterinary care and massage practitioners do not provide diagnosis or treatment of conditions.
Students will learn advanced massage techniques including:
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Energy Work
Massage for Inflammatory Conditions
Circulatory Massage
Students will learn about the most common conditions and injuries, their pathology and the accepted protocols currently used in veterinary medicine for treatment. Then they will learn specific massage techniques that can assist healing by supporting the immune system, reducing pain and inflammation cycles, restoring range of motion, modeling scar tissue and supporting the phsycological recovery animals experience on the road to recovery.
Grief counseling and passage of life massage will be explored. Guest speakers include veterinary specialists, hydrotherapy therapists and physiotherapists as available. This course is equal to 150 hours of study.
PREREQ: Students must complete the Level 100 massage program.
