Ever wonder what the difference is between a kimberwicke and a tom thumb?  Do you know how to properly size a bit to your horses mouth?  How do you choose the right bit for the job?  Novice riders and advance riders alike will learn more about the mechanics of bits and bridles in this class.  Lola Michelin of the Northwest School of Animal Massage will explain the anatomy of the horse’s mouth and head while WSHJA President and local trainer Shelly Kerron will help walk us through the many styles of bits and their proper use and function. ..

Equine First Aid and Emergency Preparedness WSHJA Seminar: Equine First Aid and Emergency Preparedness
Learn critical first aid emergency skills including: recording vital signs, recognizing the signs of Colic and proper wound manangement.  Build a first aid kit for the barn and the trailer and help create an emergency plan for your barn.  This is the same class used in professional certification courses at the Northwest School of Animal Massage (www.nwsam.com) and will be taught by the school’s director and WSHJA member Lola Michelin. ..
